What is happening?

The world is going crazy.  All around us we see things happening that don’t make sense.  The Republicans say this, the Democrats say that.  I can go on and name a lot of other names and it is still the same.  No one has a good answer.

No one is asking what is the church is saying.  Well looking at the church it seems that they have as many answers as the rest of them.  It would seem that God may have an answer.  Trouble it is usually a man who give you the answer and many times it’s the answer of a man that we are given.

I heard the following story one time and it makes sense.  The Bible gave many predictions of the coming of Jesus the Christ.  How many?  The story went as follows.  If you could put quarters all over the world, lets say 3 feet deep and one of them was painted with red paint on one side.  All these billion and billion of quarters all over the earth so what is the probability if you landed on earth and picked up the red colored quarter on your first attempt.  About the same as all the prophecies of Jesus coming through.    So if you have a book with this kind of record it would stand that you should look at the end time prophecies that are listed in this book.

I went to a Bible College and my specialty was in Eschatology that is the study of end of time events.

The first thing I always hear is something like this.  “Everything is the same, they have been saying Jesus is coming back and He hasn’t”.  We have all heard something like this when we talk to non-believers and sadly I must say some believers.  Guess What?  That is one of the end time prophecies.  This is found in 2 Peter Chapter 3 verses 3-4.  Look this up in your Bible.  “Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming?  For sense the fathers fell asleep, all things continue on as they were from the beginning of creation.”  So every time you hear something like this rejoice, we are getting closer to the coming of the Lord.

Remember the odds on the Bible being right are very very good because of its past record.  Do you think you are smarter than the Bible?  There are actually those who think they are and boy are they going to be shocked when they discover they were wrong.  Some of them don’t believe God or in God.  Even the Devil believes in God.  They don’t believe God has the power or ability to have men sit down and write 66 Books of the Bible and have His meaning and thoughts come through.  Do you think all these men could have sat down and made all these predictions that have come true without God?  Duh, I don’t think so.

What about the prophecies about the last days?  What does the Bible say about them?  Is there something happening that should make you sit up and take Notice?

YES is the answer and the information I have put below will go into it.  Is there a two minute warning like they have in football?  Yes there is.  To make it simple, think about his.  Back in the Old Testament, God gave the land to the children of Israel.  Notice how after they rejected Jesus that they were kicked out and spread all over the earth.  Jesus said when you see Israel a nation again, when the people are back in their old country.  Take Notice!  Israel became a nation again on May 14^th, 1948.  You could think of that as the Two Minute Warning.  Mark Chapter 13 verses 28 through 30 tells us that this generation will not pass away until all these things happen.  May 14, 1948 and the Bible says a generation is 70 to  80 years.  May 14, 2028 will be 80 years.  So Jesus told us no man would know the day or hour of his return, only his Father in Heaven.  Matthew 16:2-4  Jesus tells us that we can discern the signs of the coming weather but we can’t read the signs of the times.  In Mark 13:37 “And what is say to you, I say to all:  Watch!”

What you need to do is sit down read and study some good prophecy.  Where do I find this you might ask and please look into what is available and don’t be overwhelmed.  There is a lot of garbage out there.  Here is one of the good ones.

Down at the bottom it mentions Alpha News Daily.  If you want to read the daily news looking at it in a prophetic way then I recommend this highly.

A poll dated June 26^th, 2006 by the Fox Network says that 92% of Americans say they believe in God.  Just looking at that seems to be good but let’s look at it closer.  Knowing that there is a God does not mean that you believe and follow what He says.  The Devil believes in God but it’s not the believing, it’s the following that counts.  Ask them if they believe in the God of the Bible.  That is where the rubber meets the road.  Ask them who they believe God is?  There answers will range between “The Force of Star Wars” to those who believe we are all Gods.  Someone has to be wrong.

        Christians believe in the God of the Bible.  They believe that God chose to be born into this world as a baby.  He grew up with his mother and father, working with his father as a carpenter until he got older.  Jesus was his name and a large segment of the world believes his claim to being The Messiah.  There are many prophecies about Jesus. The odds of all of them coming true is a very large unbelievable number.  All of the things prophesied came true.  I heard it put this way one time.  Take one coin and put a drop of paint on it.  Throw it on the ground and continue to throw coins without the drop of pain until the entire earth was covered a foot deep.  Drop off a man on planet earth and have him pick up one coin.  The chance he would pick up the one coin with the drop of paint are about the same as all the prophecies about Jesus coming true.  Of course the problem is that most people don’t even think about God or anything about him.  Maybe when they go to a funeral or something happens like the 9-11 Trade Center Crash.  Now they have the movie World Trade Center.  I have had people say the movie was good but it brought back memories they cared not to have.

        The 911 tragedy was a shock to our nation and the churches noticed that the number of people attending their services swelled.  This went on for some time but eventually those people stopped going to church.  Many of these people will tell you that they believe in God.  Again the trouble is they believe there is a God but they know nothing about him.

God makes the rules, He has put them down in His owner’s manual.  That owner’s manual we know as the Bible.

Officials are closely monitoring the volcano's activity

The Colombian authorities are urging several thousand people to leave their homes on the slopes and foothills of a volcano that is spewing ash and smoke.

A state of maximum alert is in force around the Galeras volcano in the south-west of the country.

About 2,000 people from nearby villages have so far been taken to shelters.

The last major eruption from Galeras, one of Colombia's most active volcanoes, killed nine people in 1993, including scientists monitoring it.

An explosion of rock and gas from the volcano on Wednesday prompted the local authorities to step up plans to evacuate the surrounding areas.

Television pictures showed thick clouds of ash over the city of Pasto, whose 400,000 residents live about 8km (5 miles) from the volcano.

The Vulcanological Observatory in Pasto is monitoring the situation and latest reports from the area say the volcano's activity has now lessened.

The Galeras volcano, 520km (320 miles) south-west of the capital, Bogota, has a long history of activity.

Last November, it spewed ash that fell up to 50km (30 miles) away.
